HP's DDS-4-based Autoloader
HP's DDS-4-based automated tape backup system is designed for small to medium-size companies. The new SureStore DAT40x6 boasts a 6-MB/sec transfer rate (assuming 2:1 compression), automatic tape rotation, and support for a number of operating environments--Windows NT, Windows 2000, NetWare 5, and Red Hat Linux. It also features HP's One-Button Disaster Recovery (OBDR) for automatically restoring data. The tape backup system ships with Yosemite TapeWare and supports DDS-3 media.
Expected availability of the SureStore DAT40x6 is tomorrow (February 1). Pricing is $3,530 (internal) and $3,855 (external).
