Agilent, Adaptec Boost Fibre Channel to PC Use
Agilent Technologies Inc. and Adaptec Inc. have partnered to co-develop, market and sell Fibre Channel host bus adapters for Windows NT-based servers. This alliance is targeted at providing interoperability and support to drive customer confidence and accelerate the adoption of Fibre Channel in Windows NT markets.
Under the terms of the agreement, Adaptec will license Agilent’s Fibre Channel host adapter and software driver technology. Both companies will jointly develop and market software solutions based on Tachyon architecture, and will focus on interoperability and ease of use. Adaptec will focus its sales and distribution channel to market Fibre Channel solutions to PC OEMs and distributors worldwide. Products sold through Adaptec will be co-branded.
