IBM announced it has entered into a one-year consulting services agreement with Kalamazoo, Mich.-based I/NET Inc. Under the terms of the agreement, I/NET will provide e-commerce consulting services to IBM’s midrange computing division.

I/NET is a software provider and e-commerce solution developer for the midrange computing market. I/NET Merchant/400 software allows real-time credit card payment processing over the Web. In 1999 it earned IBM’s Powered by AS/400e Award.

“We are pleased that IBM has once again chosen I/NET to provide e-commerce consulting to support its AS/400 Web site,” says I/NET president and CEO Stephen J. Markee. “I/NET’s track record developing software applications that Web-enable the AS/400, as well as our expertise in the areas of e-business solutions and Internet security, provides a depth of knowledge that will produce benefits for IBM and its AS/400 users worldwide.”

The agreement will be in effect through March 2001. It stipulates that I/NET will provide the IBM enterprise systems group with project management, information architecture, content management, applications development, HTML programming, site administration and support for IBM’s Web-based marketing on its www.as400.ibm.com Web site. I/NET also agrees to provide education and support of technical content writers, management of Web initiatives and editorial review.
