With more and more companies engaging in e-commerce, security is more important than ever. BEA Systems Inc. (San Jose), an e-commerce transactions company, is moving to further address the needs for secure, end-to-end e-commerce transactions through a partnership with PentaSafe Security Technologies Inc.

A leading developer of IT auditing and security software for the AS/400 platform among others, PentaSafe will provide additional security management features to application servers BEA Tuxedo, BEA WebLogic Enterprise, and BEA WebLogic Server.

“BEA is dedicated to addressing customers’ needs for secure e-commerce solutions,” says Joe Menard, president of the BEA e-commerce server division. “With the ability to audit, assess, secure and protect application servers, PentaSafe is well-positioned to become a premier security solution provider for the BEA WebLogic family of products.”

PentaSafe VigilEnt security agents allow users to audit, secure and protect application servers from internal and external threats. It has an array of features to do this, including: performing installation checks, monitoring and assessing configuration changes, monitoring operations and application logos, keeping track of client activity and changes made, and providing real-time transaction processing.

“For any e-business to be successful, the transaction process must be secure,” says Doug Erwin, CEO of PentaSafe. “Our relationship with BEA gives us a great opportunity to provide the next level of e-commerce transaction security—and is in keeping with our goal to provide security management for the key technologies that are driving the digital economy.”
