WinZip 8.0 Now Shipping
WinZip, best known for providing users with the ability to process Zip files and other archival/compression formats without a complex command line interface, has released WinZip 8.0. The new version includes a new Zip and E-Mail feature, which zips documents and folders and attaches the Zip file to an e-mail message without leaving the Explorer. Updates to the Wizard allow it to create and update Zip files, as well as extract and install from MIME and similar encoded files.
WinZip 8.0 provides Internet file format support for UUencode, BinHex, CAB, self-extracting CAB, TAR, gzip, and MIME (including AOL's MIM files), and will work with Windows 95/98/2000 and NT 4.0. New install features and tight integration with the Windows shell, including drag and drop to or from Explorer are also included.
As with all WinZip upgrades for the last nine years, all registered users of earlier English language versions of WinZip can download a FREE upgrade to WinZip 8.0 from www.winzip.com/upgrade.cgi
