Akamai Mourns Loss of Co-Founder Daniel Lewin

Officials have confirmed that Daniel M. Lewin, co-founder of Akamai Technologies Inc., was a passenger on American Airlines Flight 11 travelling from Boston to Los Angeles. The hijacked flight crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center last Tuesday.

Lewin, who co-founded Akamai in 1998 with Tom Leighton, also served as chief technology officer and a board member for the company. Lewin was 31 and is survived by his wife and two sons.
