IDC: Wireless Applications for Employees First
A recent report by analyst firm IDC says enterpriseapplications are being developed first for internal use. Most enterprises areinterested in developing applications for employees, rather than customers orpartners.
According to the IDC survey, 82% of companiesdeveloping wireless applications are developing their applications foremployees. Customers come in a distant second with 44%, and, finally, partnersand suppliers are the target of 19% of applications.
IDC says 40% of large companies have wirelessapplications in place, while medium and small business are less likely to havewireless applications.
IDC surveyed 150 employees of companies with over 100employees for the survey.
