BladeLogic Redefines Server Management
BladeLogic Inc. introduced its BladeLogic Software Suite 4.0, allowing administrators to manage Windows, Unix and Linux servers simultaneously from one console. Three core modules are included in the BladeLogic Software Suite 4.0: BladeLogic Network Shell provides the Unix command line interface and is packaged with Server Center—a Java-based GUI tool providing real-time inventory of servers and software. BladeLogic Audit allows administrators to analyze the real-time configuration of every server to determine the consistency of key configuration parameters.
BladeLogic Configure lets administrators automatically install various components to multiple servers at multiple locations, either in real time or as a scheduled activity. The software includes reporting tools that provide IT managers with a consolidated view of server performance, security and availability. BladeLogic Software Suite 4.0 is slated to ship early in 2002.
