Plug-and-Play Networking Now Available from Sun

Sun extends secure Internet and intranet services to users.

Earlier this year, Sun Microsystems Inc. revealed its new Sun Cobalt Qube 3 server appliance. Extending secure Internet and intranet services to users, the Sun Cobalt Qube 3 server appliance enables home offices, small businesses or remote offices to host their own Web sites, set up e-mail systems and protect their computing environments from Internet threats with a built-in firewall.

Support for IPsec and Microsoft PPTP VPN services enables telecommuters to securely access their corporate network from virtually any Windows PC.

The inclusion of Sun BlueLinQ technology automatically keeps the appliance updated with the latest security patches and other software. The appliance also integrates with the Sun Cobalt Control Station and can continue to scale to accommodate changing needs by offering port forwarding, which maps ports and redirects network traffic and enables the network to grow with additional servers while maintaining manageability.

The Sun Cobalt Qube 3 is available for $1,149.
