Relicore Debuts Multi-Mode Configuration Management Solution

Burlington, MA -- October 18, 2005 -- Relicore, Inc., a leading provider of automated, real-time application- and server-configuration management solutions, today announced a new multi-mode version of its award-winning Relicore Clarity software that offers different modes of data collection, providing IT staff with the most comprehensive and flexible solution available for discovering, mapping and tracking changes to applications, distributed systems, and legacy systems via an agent-based or agentless approach.

Real-Time, Event-Driven Mode: Incorporating the real-time, event-driven technology Relicore first brought to market in 2002, this mode provides automatic discovery of both off-the-shelf and custom applications (with no manual fingerprints or blueprints required), dynamic dependency mapping, and real-time change tracking using an agent that observes real-time behavior and change. This model is ideal for operational tasks such as rapid troubleshooting; problem, change and incident management; and compliance audit trails that rely on up-to-the minute, 100 percent accurate information.
Periodic Scanning Mode: This mode provides topology discovery and visibility into the configurations of managed systems and applications using an agentless, periodic scanning approach, making it an ideal solution for tasks such as inventory, asset, and portfolio management that do not require real-time change and dependency alerts or continuous, step-by-step audit trails. It is also an ideal approach for collecting data on platforms such as mainframes, midrange servers, network devices, and systems that are outside of a customer’s control. This mode employs standard interfaces such as SNMP, Telnet, SSH, and WMI for data collection.
