MySQL Certification for SCO OpenServer 6

SCO and MySQL AB have worked together over the past six months to certify MySQL 4.1 and 5.0 for the SCO OpenServer 6 platform. Customers can now gain a significant advantage in application reliability, performance, and manageability by deploying one of the most popular open source databases on SCO OpenServer 6. The MySQL Network subscription service provides certified enterprise-grade database software along with production technical support and proactive services. For ISVs and OEM developers, SCO also offers a commercial license that is designed to meet the unique re-distribution requirements of deploying third-party solutions.

SCO Online Data Manager and SCO Mirroring for OpenServer 6

SCO today announced the availability of its Online Data Manager and Mirroring solutions for SCO OpenServer 6. The SCO Online Data Manager and Disk Mirroring provide customers with the tools to manage and protect their critical business data.

The Online Data Manager (ODM) provides redundant array of independent disk (RAID) level support as well as online disk performance analysis. ODM includes a graphical administration tool for increased ease of use in analyzing disk hot spots or high areas of disk activity. It also supports online file system resizing, migration, and RAID-level modifications.

For SCO OpenServer 6 customers who only need a software mirroring solution to enhance the availability of disk storage systems without the need for RAID features, SCO offers Disk Mirroring for OpenServer 6. The mirroring option for OpenServer 6 provides increased data availability by providing fault tolerance against disk failures and faster data access. By adding a second disk to their systems and mirroring, administrators will automatically have access to their business-critical data should their primary disk fail.

SCOoffice 4.1 Maintenance Pack 4 with Connector 3

SCO has made available the fourth Maintenance Pack for SCOoffice Server 4.1 which includes Connector 3 for easily connecting SCOoffice Server to Windows desktops using Microsoft Outlook to maintain groupware and address book capabilities typically associated with Microsoft Exchange.

In addition to supporting e-mail, Connector 3 with SCOoffice Server supports such features in Microsoft Outlook as folder sharing, calendaring, scheduling, contacts, notes and tasks. Connector 3 is a native MAPI implementation and comes with an easy to use click-and-go installation and configuration tool. SCOoffice 4.1 with Connector 3 supports Windows 2000, XP, and 2003 as well as Outlook versions 2000, XP, and 2003.
