BMC Software Announces Day-One Support for IBM System z9 Integrated Information Processor

HOUSTON - (Mar. 7, 2006) - BMC Software, Inc., a leader in enterprise management, today confirmed day-one support for its BMC(r) mainframe solutions for IBM's System z9 Integrated Information Processor (zIIP), a specialty engine designed to help improve resource optimization and lower the cost of portions of eligible workloads. BMC solutions will provide capabilities that allow customers to more effectively utilize zIIP, further extending the value the mainframe brings to enterprise applications and the business services they run.

With support upon availability of the IBM zIIP, BMC customers should be able to immediately leverage the benefits of these processor engines.
