Ingrian Networks’ New File Encryption Solution Encrypts Sensitive Data on Corporate Servers

Works with company’s flagship DataSecure platform to help enterprise users protect data and achieve compliance

Redwood City, Calif, February 5, 2007 --Ingrian® Networks, Inc. today announced the release of the Ingrian File System Connector, the industry’s first hardware-based key management solution for encrypting structured and unstructured data. The file encryption solution works with Ingrian’s flagship DataSecure® Platform to provide transparent, policy-driven and granular encryption of directories and files on corporate servers, enabling a complete end-to-end encryption solution.

Government and industry mandates require companies to provide audit-trail information that prove their processes are documented and enforced. Ingrian’s comprehensive solution addresses security concerns and compliance mandates by protecting data within applications, databases and storage sub-systems. Customers now have a file encryption solution to protect all types of files such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents as well as database files that are housed within corporate servers.

Ingrian File System Connector allows existing DataSecure customers to leverage their existing security investments, and protects sensitive structured and unstructured data-at-rest throughout the network, including data that is backed-up off-site.

Ingrian File System Connector offers:

  • Encryption of all types of files including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents as well as database data files

  • Ability to track activities including file opens, data migration, and key rotation

  • 100 percent transparency to end users, applications, databases, and administrators enabling seamless integration with no application changes required

  • The ability to set highly granular policies with rules applied to specific directories, files, or file types

Ingrian File System Connector communicates with an Ingrian DataSecure appliance to provide central management of keys and policies as well as the logging of administrative and access events. Additionally, no downtime is required during the implementation process or when keys are rotated.

“With so many government and industry mandates such as Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Senate Bill 1386 and Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard looming, organizations are under pressure like never before to ensure unstructured data files housed on corporate servers are secure,” said Derek Tumulak, vice president of product management for Ingrian Networks. “Sensitive business and personal information must be protected from accidental or malicious exposure to unauthorized personnel and Ingrian File System Connector ensures organizations can protect sensitive structured and unstructured data stored throughout the enterprise including data backed up off-site.”

Ingrian File System Connector will be available as a software download from the Ingrian support site at http://www.ingrian.com/support.html in mid-March. Pricing starts at $15,000 (USD).
