Project Insight Release Includes Web Services, SDK

APIs enable communication between two software applications using a standard language

Project Insight has released Web services APIs and a software development kit (SDK) for integration and extended customization abilities. Project Insight helps project teams collaborate on project schedules, share assets, allocate resources, and run real-time reports from within a browser.

Project Insight’s Web services APIs enable communication between two software applications using a standard language, reducing developer time needed to create and manage integrations by up to 90 percent. Using a CRM/accounting example, Project Insight can capture project costing and budgeting information and pass it to accounting systems automatically.

Because it is often challenging to find software that meets all of one’s requirements, Project Insight released the .NET SDK; the kit allows .NET programmers to extend and customize Project Insight.

Project Insight 6.2 is available now in a hosted Workgroup Edition and Enterprise installed and hosted versions. Installed versions require Microsoft Windows 2003 Server running IIS 6.0+ and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or 2005. Installed and hosted versions require one of these browsers: Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0+, Netscape 6.0+, Safari 1.3.2+, or Firefox 1.5.0.7.
