Continuity Releases Version 3.0 of RecoverGuard

Disaster recovery management product features support for VMware environment

Continuity Software this week announced that the latest version of RecoverGuard, the company's disaster recovery management product for VMware environments, will become generally available on June 30.

Version 3.0 of RecoverGuard was designed to let users "easily map their entire VMware environment," according to a press release from the company. This latest version includes new VMware-specific gap-analysis capabilities.

"RecoverGuard 3.0 has been enhanced to include all of the gaps that are unique to VMware environments, while also extending its current tampering, data corruption and optimization knowledge bases," said Avi Stone, Continuity's director of marketing, in the press release. "This allows customers to rest assured that they are maximizing VMware's benefits and eliminating possible issues."

It also features enhanced disaster recovery testing capabilities, including "host configuration gap detection," that can help companies ensure that their recovery time and business continuity goals are met. The host configuration gap detection feature can compare the path levels and versions of OSes, databases and applications, as well as pinpoint hardware specification differences.

The latest version can also integrate with ticket management systems, allowing users to automatically send reports and tickets to their specific ticket management products. It also supports gap detection for Oracle Data Guard and several Hitachi Data Systems products.
