Backup My Info! (BUMI) has announced expanded operating system and application support for its namesake, fully-managed service. The new version of BUMI's agentless backup solution addresses the need for organizations to keep pace with the growth of business-critical data deployed across an array of applications and complex, multi-platform network environments. In addition, BUMI can backup and restore VMware environments, as well as remote desktops and laptops not connected to an organization's network -- ideal for branch offices, teleworking professionals, and sales and field service personnel.

New features in this current BUMI solution include backup support for Microsoft Exchange 2010 using VSS (Volume Shadow Copy Service) Writers integration; backup and restore support for Microsoft SQL Server 2008 SP1; backup and restore support for Microsoft SharePoint 2007 SP2; and backup and restore support for Lotus Domino/Notes.

In addition, BUMI has expanded its ability to backup VMware environments at the virtual machine level, allowing for recovery of an entire virtual machine. In combination with traditional file-level backups, BUMI clients can be ensured their virtual environments are fully protected.

BUMI also supports backups for desktop and laptops located in remote office locations. This is ideal for sales and field service personnel, as well as branch offices that need to backup their business-critical data. These machines can be centrally managed by the corporate IT department and the backups monitored by BUMI's senior support team.

Additional features include database backup, single installation, local storage, archiving, time-based backup, e-mail message level backup, continuous data protection, bare metal backup, and delta blocking. From an infrastructure perspective, the company utilizes SAS70 Type II data centers located in Canada.

The enhanced version of BUMI also supports the following platforms: Windows 2008 Standard & Enterprise x86/x64 SP2; Windows 2008 R2 Standard & Enterprise x64; Windows 2008 Standard SBS x64 SP2; Windows 7 Ultimate, Professional, and Enterprise x86/x64; Windows VISTA Home Basic, Home Premium, Ultimate, Enterprise, and Business x86/x64 SP2 English; Red Hat 4 U8 x86/x64; Red Hat 5 U4 x86/x64; SUSE 11 x86/x64; and Mac Snow Leopard 10.6.
