Changes For HP's ChangeEngine

HP announced that its Changengine Operation, provider of the HP Changengine business-process-management system, will work with three leading Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) vendors: Active Software, Inc.; BEA Systems, Inc.; and New Era of Networks, Inc. (NEON).

HP's Changengine Operation is committed to forging close collaboration with leading EAI vendors to provide customers with best-of-breed solutions. In order for companies to succeed in the new e-services economy, they must be able to integrate their systems within and beyond the enterprise. The volume of traffic generated by the Internet can quickly overwhelm a business system that has an inflexible and fragmented infrastructure.

HP Changengine builds on the foundation provided by middleware and EAI technologies, delivering business-process-management function for EAI solutions.

Building on their strategic alliance to provide a "bullet-proof" infrastructure for HP e-services, HP and BEA plan to integrate HP Changengine and BEA eLink. The integration is designed to enable customers to link packaged applications, the Web and mainframe systems.

This includes a highly scalable environment for transaction-intensive integration between new e-commerce applications and installed client/server enterprise applications, including SAP R/3, PeopleSoft, Clarify, Oracle®, Siebel and Vantive. The integration is also designed to provide out-of-the-box connectivity to Web and JavaTM-based environments, and highly scalable adapters that enable integration with IBM mainframe systems across SNA and TCP/IP environments.

HP and NEON have been working together in Europe for more than four years. The alliance between HP and NEON will continue to strengthen as HP Changengine helps to enhance the NEON Technology to the benefit of joint customers. HP Changengine will deliver the business-process-management functionality on top of the integration broker, NEONImpact. Customers will benefit from a low-risk, high-performance solution that will enable them to deploy, integrate and manage their vital business processes.
