Vision Solutions (Irvine, Calif.), Symatrix Technology (Portland, Ore.) and IBM have teamed up for a three-city tour offering a free seminar series in conjunction with the regional release of Vision’s new Vision Express data mirroring product for AS/400.

The half-day seminars, titled “Managed Availability for Entry-Level AS/400 Systems,” will take place on May 9 in Portland, Ore., May 10 in Seattle and May 11 in Salt Lake City. Representatives of the three sponsoring companies will discuss benefits of data mirroring, workload balancing and reduced application downtime. They will offer instructions on how to maximize system performance and support business-to-business Web-based functions.

Nicolaas Vlok, CEO of Vision, says the seminar is an opportunity for the company to target small and medium businesses that see a managed availability solution as being out of reach.

“We’re taking Vision Express on the road to announce a new option -- an opportunity for any size company to reduce application downtime and split workloads between systems,” he says. “We’re pleased to offer these seminars with Symatrix and IBM to clarify the claims of managed availability and show attendees how to keep their applications and systems up and running.”
