3PAR and FalconStor Announce Industry’s First Utility Virtual Tape Library

Fremont, CA and Melville, NY, January 10, 2005 -- 3PAR®, a leading provider of Utility Storage, and FalconStor® Software, Inc., a leading developer of network storage software, today announced Utility Virtual Tape Library (VTL), the industry’s first utility-class virtual tape library solution.
Utility VTL allows customers to scale and consolidate all of their online, nearline, and VTL application data onto a single platform while delivering appropriate service levels and maximizing cost effectiveness for each tier. The plug-and-play FalconStor VTL solution, coupled with simple, massively scalable, and fully tiered Utility Storage from 3PAR, delivers a powerful and efficient combination. The companies also announced a technical alliance to ensure rigorous interoperability and availability tests are conducted between the 3PAR InServ® Storage Server and FalconStor VTL.
