At a time when development teams are becoming increasingly global and distributed, Blueprint Requirements Center 2010 delivers requirements authors a complete requirements workbench, providing a powerful and flexible solution for requirements definition and stakeholder collaboration.
Blueprint Requirements Center 2010 provides a rich, traceable, and integrated system of editors to empower requirements authors. Authors can define functional and non-functional requirements lists, layout business process diagrams, develop complete use-cases, visually build user interface mockups, define glossaries, declare data and rules, and specify roles and actors.
This release adds several new capabilities to improve requirements definition for projects that involve global or outsourced teams:
-
With business process diagrams, requirements authors can graphically design sequential flows, complete with swim lanes, decision trees, and specific rules so customers can eliminate errors earlier in the requirements process
-
Authors now have visual guidance for up-stream and down-stream traceability of all assets, enabling instant change impact analysis and granular reporting
-
Users can search requirements-definition assets through a real-time search field, which delivers results as users begin to type their search queries and reduces time spent searching for existing assets
Blueprint Requirements Center 2010 provides all project stakeholders with a visual solution for collaborating on requirements consensus, validation, and task understanding. Capabilities of the new release include enhanced multi-aspect simulation, integrated comments, integrated track changes, custom document generation, and functional test scenario generation. With a focus on agile development and working with global teams with multi-cultural backgrounds, Blueprint has added or enhanced the following functionality for stakeholder collaboration:
-
Multi-aspect requirements simulation: Enhanced, patented visual simulation technology enables stakeholders to visually walk through all requirements; user experience, process flows, data, roles, and decision trees are instantly pulled together and presented through easy-to-consume requirements walkthroughs to more easily gain consensus and validation, and ensure understanding
-
Track changes: Modeled on the track-changes functionality of word processors, authors and stakeholders can see edits and modifications through visually tracked clues, ensuring greater understanding across all stakeholders throughout the requirements definition process
-
Custom document generation: Enhanced custom Microsoft Word document generation lets stakeholders receive critical requirements documents in a traditional format; document generation includes support for BRD documents, outsourcing contracts, and documents for compliance and regulation
As part of Blueprint Requirements Center 2010, the company is releasing a new version of the Blueprint Resource Center. The Blueprint Resource Center is a cloud-based collaboration system designed to provide self-training videos, an online knowledge base, searchable discussion threads, and a user community.
