Clerity Solutions, mainframe migration and modernization solutions provider, today introduced the Clerity Migration and Modernization Analysis Process (MMAP) for Adabas Natural environments. This new service helps companies analyze migration options for Software AG environments to fully understand the total business impact and implementation requirements involved in moving to modern platforms and application architectures.
Adabas, Software AG’s database server, has been used on mainframes since 1970 for large applications and has historically been implemented in conjunction with Natural, Software AG’s programming language. Transitioning from these long-established environments can be complex; many migration vendors promote only a single path forward that may or may not be the right fit for a particular organization.
Clerity’s new MMAP service is a unique platform-neutral approach that helps companies consider all potential business and technology factors influencing a mainframe migration project and reach a business-savvy decision.
Organizations with Adabas Natural investments may be struggling with whether to retain existing core investments or move to new frameworks such as Java or .NET,” said Jeff Hacker, vice president in charge of Clerity’s Adabas Natural Modernization Practice. “The Clerity MMAP takes a large degree of risk out of the decision by fully analyzing the business and technical implications of potential migration and modernization scenarios.”
With help from Clerity, a leading global forest products company recently completed thorough planning and analysis of relevant application, data, and integration components before rehosting its Adabas Natural system from the mainframe to a HP-UX Integrity server environment. The company was looking for a cost-effective alternative that would preserve the business logic in a key Adabas Natural mainframe application that analyzes millions of routing options for lumber shipments.
Clerity’s portfolio of migration and modernization services includes comprehensive IT assessments, application database and data migration, legacy modernization, SOA enablement, infrastructure design, and managed services.
