New CAST Cloud Service Spots Risks within Enterprise Software

CAST has unveiled CAST Highlight, the industry’s first comprehensive, cloud-based, software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution that provides IT with a snapshot of any or all the company’s applications. CAST Highlight isolates structural flaws in software within seconds and automatically provides feedback on software health based on industry norms, standards, and best practices without the need to upload code. CAST Highlight helps IT determine which applications are wasting scarce resources and which may bring down their systems.

CAST Highlight combines software purchased from a sole source service provider to the European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company (EADS), the parent company of Airbus, with CAST’s 20-plus years of experience analyzing application software for many large corporations around world.
Users access the analyzer through a secure Internet link. Users download a small software scanner to their systems, point it at the locations for any or all application software they wish to analyze, and the scanner conducts the assessment automatically without having to upload the source code. From the analysis, a text file is created for upload to the cloud portal where project managers and CIOs can examine analytics regarding size and quality.
