IBM Welcomes Sterling Software To BI Initiative

Sterling Software Inc.'s Information Management Group announced it has become a member of IBM's Business Intelligence Partnership Initiative, according to published reports.

The Woodland Hills, Calif.-based Sterling Commerce designs its business intelligence (BI) tools to enable organizations to transform data to information by analyzing enterprise data for strategic decision-making. Sterling Software’s BI products are designed to give PC users access to enterprise information in heterogeneous mainframe and client/server databases, and provide analysis and reporting capabilities.

As part of the BI Partnership Initiative, Sterling Software and IBM are expected to ensure that Sterling Software tools work with IBM's BI portfolio, including DB2 Universal Database and DB2 OLAP Server.
