Luminate Offers Free Response Time Software for R/3
Luminate Software Corp. (Redwood City, Calif.) announced it will give away free versions of its TimePiece solution, a response time analyzer for SAP R/3 business software that sells for about $10,000, according to published reports.
TimePiece includes a Web front end on the software’s network packet collection technology to let users view application response time by hour, user or by R/3 application server through a browser. The tool is designed to allow systems managers to see R/3 application response times while network managers view traffic patterns by network segment, reports say.
This TimePiece announcement follows the introduction of Luminate’s application performance management support for R/3 on the AS/400 earlier this year. Luminate for SAP R/3 Version 2.0 is designed to provide rapid access to critical performance and application service-level management information for companies running SAP R/3 in AS/400 environments.
One of the keys to the Luminate product is its capability to provide structured information rather than raw data. The company has positioned its product this way to find an audience in the typically complex SAP R/3 AS/400 environments.
