IBM Acquires Danish ERP Service Company
IBM has completed the acquisition of ERP services company, the Management and Application Support (MAS) Group.
IBM now holds 100 percent ownership of the Denmark company's divisions in the United States, United Kingdom and Norway as well as MAS Direct and MAS IG. IBM has also increased its stake in MAS Denmark.
MAS's 800 ERP professionals will integrate with IBM's Global Services division, though the MAS brand will remain, providing ERP integration, strategic outsourcing and e-business services.
"This deal demonstrates our ongoing, serious commitment to the ERP marketplace which we believe will continue to grow over the next few years," says Brian Sellwood, general manager of IBM Global Services. "By bringing together our two organizations, we combine the depth of expertise of MAS Group with the breadth and strength of IBM, particularly in e-commerce."
Henrik Jeppesen, CEO of MAS, says: "With this step, we create the foundation for truly leveraging the strengths of IBM's reach and range and the highly specialized skills in the MAS companies to the benefit of our customers through an end-to-end capability. We very much look forward to playing an active role in making this happen."
