The release -- scheduled to ship on March 31, 1999 -- will include Web Self-Service, Lawson's trademarked Self-Evident Applications (SEA) activity-based management and performance tool. Lawson Insight also features: Web Self-Service Centers, designed to provide cost-effective Internet or intranet accessible stations; Activity Management, designed to allow companies to record and measure actual profitability of individual projects; and Drill Around, Lawson's trademarked information access feature for allowing users to find and analyze information throughout integrated enterprise applications.

One Lawson customer, the New Orleans-based Canal Barge Company, is a strong advocate the Activity Management component. "The addition of Activity Management means we can leverage our enterprise data more effectively to make better decisions, streamline operations and maximize profits," says Harvey Wright, Lawson application manager at Canal Barge Company, a mid-sized marine transportation company.

Pricing for Lawson Insight on the AS/400 is expected to be consistent with Lawson Insight pricing for Unix and NT, and is based on the number of concurrent users, according to a company press release.
