GS Capital Expands Relationship with Lakeview

Reports out of Oak Brook, Ill. indicate GS Capital Partners II, L.P. -- an affiliate of Goldman, Sachs & Co. (New York) -- has recently acquired equity interest in Lakeview Technology.

GS Capital Partners II, L.P. became a shareholder of Lakeview when it acquired Praxis International during the final quarter of 1998. GS Capital Partners had been a major shareholder in Praxis, makers of OmniEnterprise, an information sharing and data replication solution.

"We see in Lakeview a company with excellent growth potential and a solid management team," says Joseph H. Gleberman, a managing director at Goldman Sachs.

Lakeview Technology is similarly optimistic about its new relationship with Goldman Sachs. "As we continue to grow and build the company, we see great value in attracting resources and investors that will add significant value," says William Merchantz, president and CEO of Lakeview.

"Lakeview is organized around solutions through global partnerships, in all areas of the business," adds David Wegman, VP of marketing at Lakeview. "Continued focus on the business fundamentals and the creation of strategic and broad-based partnerships such as this positions the company for strong growth and creates powerful leverage in the market."
