IBM Recruits DetectIT for AS/400 Security Management
IBM has selected United Kingdom-based AS/400 audit and security specialists CCT Ltd. to provide security management for AS/400 users worldwide through its DetectIT product.
IBM's partnership with CCT (which also has domestic offices in Mequon, Wis.) falls under the aegis of Big Blue's Systems Management Partner Group (SMPG), a combined effort of the AS/400 Server team, IBM Software Vendor Marketing and systems management vendors. SMPG was created to increase customer awareness of solutions and resources that can help them better manage their AS/400s.
DetectIT is expected to deliver to AS/400 users a solution that compliments IBM's own AS/400 systems management strategy and the SMPG solutions. In addition, DetectIT has worldwide regional support centers and has gained accreditation to BS EN ISO9001 and TickIT.
"Providing timely solutions that help our customers manage their resources amid a rapidly changing business environment has proven quite a challenge," says Judy Tenney, director of AS/400 Systems Software Development for IBM. "This program teams the AS/400 Brand together with some key solution developers. It allows us to deliver solutions that will extend the AS/400's systems management functions."
