Authorization Server Scores Big With Reader’s TrustHP’s Praesidium Authorization Server has won
SC Magazine's Reader's Trust Award for Best Internet Security Product at the magazine's third annual award ceremony held in London on April 27.
"The Reader's Trust Awards are highly regarded because the products are voted on by our readers, who are using the latest Internet security solutions on the market," said Paul Robinson, editor in chief, SC Magazine, a periodical dedicated to computer security. "By awarding HP with this honor two years in a row -- first for HP VirtualVault and now for the HP Authorization Server -- our voters obviously believe that HP has the best security products available today. This achievement reaffirms HP's leadership in the Internet security and Web-authorization-server market."
Authorization Server is a role- and business-rule-based authorization manager for both client-server and Web-enabled applications. It provides a layer of protection required before allowing access to Web content and Web applications without requiring changes to applications, such as Web pages and applets, server-side Common Gateway Interface (CGI), and Java-based programs and back-end applications.
Best Internet Security Product is a new SC Award and marks the third product award for the HP Praesidium product family in the past 18 months. VirtualVault trusted Web-server platform won last year's Reader's Trust Best Security Product Award and also was the winner of the Crossroads A-List Award for 1998. This year, VirtualVault received SC's Highly Commended Award.
Authorization Server was among more than 450 products nominated in four categories. No other system vendor was nominated. More information about Authorization Server and other HP security products is available at
