InterNoded to acquire Infomerge
Continuing its efforts to expand its growing Internet hosting division for Lotus Domino-based Web sites and applications, InterNoded (Cambridge, Mass.) has announced an agreement to acquire Minneapolis-based Infomerge Internet Solutions' hosting division.
"We've had amazing growth in the last 12 months in the Internet hosting business," says Julie Palen, CEO of InterNoded, adding that it has experienced 600 percent growth in that time. "The acquisition of Infomerge adds a significant customer-base to our already thriving Domino hosting division."
According to Palen, there is a growing trend in which companies are "outhosting" instead of doing it internally. "That's one of the reasons we got into Lotus Domino hosting," Palen says. "Companies need 24x7 assurance and security, and that's what we're providing."
In other InterNoded news, the company announced last month that it has reached a North American distribution agreement with Gates/Arrow Distributing (Greenville, S.C.).
Under terms of the agreement, Gates/Arrow will distribute InterNoded's stand-alone product, HyperTrac, a suite of Domino server administrative tools designed to reduce the total cost of ownership of Lotus Notes environments. In addition, Gates/Arrow will offer several bundled solutions that combine HyperTrac with Lotus Notes and Domino applications and IBM Netfinity products.
The agreement with Gates/Arrow is particularly significant for InterNoded because the company does not sell HyperTrac directly to customers. "We felt Gates/Arrow was a good match, we complement each other," says Palen. "This agreement increases the number of customers we have and gives us a presence in the Midwest."
