HP and Delphi Information Systems Launch Insurance Portal
HP and Delphi Information Systems (Rolling Meadows, Ill.) have formed a strategic alliance to co-brand and co-marketebix.com, a web insurance portal. Available in September, this area of the site will allow consumers to compare prices in a non-threatening environment and buy insurance online if they so desire. ebix.com, launched by Delphi this past May, is the only site on the Web to meet the insurance needs of both the consumer and the insurance professional. "The insurance industry is one of the largest contributors to the U.S. economy with an approximate size of $1.5 trillion," saidRob Raina, president of Delphi Information Systems at the joint press conference that also included Keith Melbourne, HP's group marketing manager for the Interent Business Unit. "This partnership includes co-branding, co-marketing, infrastructure support, revenue sharing, capital investment and equity participation by HP and Delphi,"noted Raina. HP is also providing ebix.com with differentiated services via its WebQoS software as well as integrating encryption capabilities via HP’s Praesidium Authorization Server.
