Candle Named Market Share Leader in Middleware Messaging
By Jim MartinOn the heels of a report which underscored its dominance in the MQSeries system management market, Candle Corp. (El Segundo, Calif.), also announced enhancements and immediate availability of its Candle Command Center (CCC) Management Pac for MQ Series.
A report by Wintergreen Research Inc. (Lexington, Md.), “Middleware Messaging Markets, Strategic Positioning and Market Forecasts from 1998 to 2003,” says that Candle has a 54 percent market share, more than twice the share of its nearest competitor.
For the first time, CCC Management Pac--which runs on the AS/400 and enables users to quickly and automatically detect, correct, and prevent potential problems--includes Tandem platform support.
“The fact that more than half of the MQSeries market relies on Candle for system management support serves as a testament to our expertise in enabling our customers to run their business more effectively across the enterprise,” says Dave Powell, VP, Application Solutions, Candle Corp. “The move to add Tandem platform support and enhanced functionality to our extensive product suite strengthens Candle’s dominant position in enabling businesses to maximize the performance of their networks.”
Other new features in CCC Management Pac version 300 include: server failover abilities which ensure system uptime; granular queue reporting which pinpoints information quickly by bypassing high-level reports and going directly to the desired system area; multi-select capabilities that enhance administrators ability to delete and retry DLQ and queue messages; and View last N/first N options that allow administrators to view messages in chronological order for faster problem determination.
Pricing for the CCC Management Pac with Tandem support starts at $7,500 while pricing remains at $500 for Windows NT and $1,000 for UNIX.
