Intentia Puts New Moves on Movex

AS/400 development partner Intentia International’s (Schaumberg, Ill.) new Movex ERP suite introduces functionality whereby maintenance work orders can be scheduled simultaneously with production orders, a feature that, according to Intentia, will enable manufacturers to increase production availability and reduce planning time. This simultaneous scheduling has been achieved by the integration of Movex Maintenance and Moves Advanced Production Planner (APP), two business process within the Movex system.
“Maintenance experts have been requesting this type of functionality,” says Lance LaCross, Movex product director. “We’re delivering it within the context of a fully integrated ERP solution. The benefits are measurable and affect virtually all levels within the supply chain.”
APP automatically schedules production orders against the available production capacity and raw materials then fits those maintenance work orders requiring downtime into production windows. New productino windows can be opened up for manual rescheduling of maintenance work orders into non-working periods, such as nights and weekends.
The software also allows planners to simulate different production/maintenance strategies. By minimizing the disruption to production caused by maintenance work, it is possible to identify the best schedule to meet a manufacturer’s goals and objectives.
