NetManage Adds Thin Client Solutions to eN2000 Family

NetManage (Cupertino, Calif.) is adding thin-client solutions to its eN2000 family with the release of ViewNow for Windows Terminal Services and ViewNow for Citrix MetaFrame, both of which run on the AS/400.
Running on a Windows NT server, ViewNow for Windows Terminal provides Windows-based thin clients with a complete set of host connectivity applications for accessing information in a multi-host computing environment. ViewNow for Citrix MetaFrame is an enterprise-scale, multi-host connectivity solution for organizations running Citrix MetaFrame application-server software for information access.
Both products feature NetManage’s patented embedded SupportNow capability, which allows real-time support for ViewNow products across Internet or Intranet connections.
EN2000 is NetManage’s integrated framework of client software, management and support solutions providing desktop, server-based, and WAN access products connecting users to UNIX, AS/400 and mainframe computers.
According to Marilyn Kansas, VP of marketing for NetManage, ViewNow for Citrix MetaFrame is a step up from Windows Terminal because it supports heterogeneous environments. “We believe that Citrix MetaFrame has unique features that customers will want to take advantage of,” she says.
