Continuing its eBusiness push, IBM has announced a strategic alliance with Mortice Kerns Systems, Inc. (Chicago). Through this alliance, MKS will deliver eBusiness management solutions to IBM’s worldwide customer base.
The agreement is centered around the MKS Integrity Framework, a suite of products and services designed to optimize the development of complex software and Web systems in the enterprise. IBM and MKS will focus on improving corporate performance with eBusiness management solutions that integrate existing back-end business applications and move business operations online, according to MKS.
“MKS’s eBusiness management solutions complement IBM’s range of eBusiness offerings. MKS’s unique value in the marketplace comes from its understanding of both application development and content management cycles,” says Bob Timpson, general manager, Solution Developer Marketing, IBM. "It can deliver a solution that creates and sustains robust eBusiness applications. We’re excited to work with MKS to deliver eBusiness solutions to the marketplace.”
The MKS Integrity Framework suite of products includes products such as MKS Source Integrity and MKS SDM Implementer, solutions that manage the application development lifecycle of client/server, AS/400 and Web-based business applications. Other products in the MKS Source Integrity series include MKS Web Integrity, MKS ToolKit, MKS Toolkit Select and MKS NuTCRACKER.
“The movement to mission-critical eBusiness processes is plagued by a number of organizational, process and IT system issues. Integrating eBusiness into real business is a monumental effort for our customers, yet it must occur at a lightening fast pace,” says Randall Howard, chairman and CEO of MKS. “Through this alliance, IBM and MKS can deliver a complete solution to our mutual customers that offers the hardware, software and management processes for Web-enabling business, and for sustaining eBusiness to achieve recognizable business improvement.”
