HarrisData and ROI Form Alliance

Looking to add real-time credit card processing capabilities to its ERP product, HarrisData (Brookfield, Wis.) has joined forces with ROI Corp. (Woodstock, Ga.), a provider of automatic, native credit card processing on the AS/400.
“ROI adds the real-time credit card processing capabilities our customers demand,” says Lane Nelson, HarrisData VP of marketing. “ROI made it easy for us to automatically manage the credit card process from the time the order is taken to the time it is shipped, including any necessary re-authorizations and rapid settlement.”
Through the alliance, ROI’s real-time credit card capabilities are integrated into HarrisData’s Business Application Software. The combined offering provides automated credit card authorization and settlement via any workstation attached to the system, while also improving customer service with response times averaging four to eight seconds.
A HarrisData interface to the ROI middleware has been incorporated into HarrisData Business Application Software version 8.0/02. “With the integration of ROI’s POS-port software, we have quick authorization—before shipping,” says James Messing, controller at Hornady Manufacturing (Grand Island, Neb.). “The reduction of labor and improvement of accuracy was tremendous.”
