NetManage Manages to Expands its Net

By Jim Martin

Continuing its philosophy of growth by acquisition, NetManage (Cupertino, Calif.) has acquired Simware Inc. (Ottawa), an enterprise-class extranet solution provider.

According to NetManage, the addition of Simware’s Salvo product line will allow them to expand the capabilities of eN2000 by delivering integrated e-business solutions to Fortune 1000 companies. The Salvo product line also contains Web integration and Web publishing capabilities, expanding eN2000’s Web access solution capabilities.

Salvo, which consists of two products--Salvo Server and Salvo Impact--allows customers to re-engineer existing corporate information to create completely new Web applications.

“This acquisition of Simware places NetManage center-stage as a company that can address a wide range of corporate, Internet, eBusiness and eCommerce requirements of Fortune 1000 corporations,” says Zvi Alon, president and CEO of NetManage. “When combined with our existing market-leading desktop, server and Web-to-host product lines, a full integration server capability that can also incorporate our unique real-time support technology means that we can help our customers migrate their existing enterprise systems to the Internet economy.”

Simware will operate as the eBusiness Group of NetManage.
