Hummingbird & ResQNet Sign Licensing Agreement
Hummingbird Communications Ltd. has signed an agreement to license the patented ResQNet drag-and drop host rejuvenation technology to be incorporated into their line of host access products including HostExplorer Web -- a Java-based, Web-to-Host solution -- and HostExplorer, Hummingbird’s Windows-based product.
The HostExplorer family of products provides access to information residing on IBM mainframe, AS/400, Linux and UNIX systems and emulates TN3270, TN5250 and VT from any Windows or Web-based desktop. Now, with the ResQNet technology, the HostExplorer family will deliver an e-business solution for rejuvenating mainframe and AS/400 green screens, employing a more familiar graphical user interface (GUI) look and feel when accessing information.
The ResQNet technology provides "on-the-fly" graphical presentation of legacy host applications through intranets, extranets and the Internet. Eliminating the need for programming or scripting, the ResQNet technology adds all of the traditional conveniences of the Windows environment - including mouse capability, customizable fonts and colors, macro buttons, drop down lists, valid value and help files, with the ability to export host data-to-desktop applications. Advanced macros, comprehensive database access, and LDAP support enables administrators to automate and simplify end-user access and operations.
