Cognos Opens SAP Competency Center
Cognos, an enterprise business intelligence (BI) solutions vendor, is opening a SAP Competency Center in Walldorf, Germany. Cognos will be the first enterprise BI provider to be represented in the SAP Partner Port with a Competency Center at SAP’s headquarters. Cognos product and technical specialists will work with SAP onsite at the Competency Center to support customers throughout the world in implementing and using Cognos’ solutions with SAP BW and mySAP.com. Activities will include advance testing of products and developing tight integration between the SAP Business Information Warehouse (SAP BW) and Cognos’ e-business solutions.
SAP BW is an end-to-end data warehouse solution developed by SAP. SAP BW users can take advantage of the new editions of the Cognos Web-based BI server engines for reporting, analysis and visualization. Cognos BI users obtain access to SAP BW Infocubes through OLE DB for OLAP (ODBO), the SAP certified-access solution. Cognos was among the first vendors to have their BI interface certified by SAP.
