Quadrant Releases Latest eFax Server

Quadrant Software has introduced a new eFax server that can manage fax and e-mail traffic on AS/400, Windows NT and Novell NetWare.

FastFax/Enterprise, which will be in general availability March 1, transmits, receives, and manages faxes by interfacing with Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Domino/Notes from e-mail inboxes at the client level. Users can send faxes from e-mail clients and receive faxes as new messages in their mailbox. The product provides full support for various types of AS/400-generated documents and allows users to attach documents and spreadsheets. It also includes central data repositories for frequently accessed information such as phone books and attachment books.

FastFax/Enterprise allows fax and e-mail activity to be managed from any client in the network and provides a single view of all fax activity regardless of where the fax originated. It is designed to eliminate the need to manage separate AS/400 and LAN fax servers.

“We are pleased to broaden our product line to include an innovative product that is the first and only true enterprise eFax server designed specifically for the AS/400 enterprise,” said Gary Langton, president of Quadrant Software. “… We expect to capture a significant portion of the market that previously made do with a LAN fax server tweaked into an enterprise solution. FastFax/Enterprise eliminates the inefficiency of maintaining two separate products.”

FastFax/Enterprise, the latest edition to Quadrant’s FastFax product family, is priced from $7,500.
