S.I. Tech Releases New AS/400 Bit Driver and Software Services

S.I. Tech (Geneva, Ill.) announced the release this month of a new series of Fiber Optic Bit-Driver and multiplexers for IBM AS/400e, and software services for S.I. Tech’s e-commerce on the AS/400.
S.I. Tech’s 4000 series supports the Express Twinax protocol using the enhanced 5250 display station emulation adapter card for IBM PC AT/ISA/EISA or PCI buses. These products are offered in single, dual or quad port styles maintaining one to 28 remote users. The series 4000 supports Express Twinax at 2 MBPS or legacy systems at 1 MBPS. The new products allow noise free, longer-distance data transmission using one duplex fiber optic cable with the dual and quad port units using multiplexing technology. ST fiber connectors are standard for both multimode and singlemode units with other options available.

Tech’s Software Services for Electronic Commerce is a new service to assist customers using the IBM AS/400e platform in setting up their own online stores.
