In the e-commerce world, time is money, and there is growing pressure on companies that are a step behind to quickly deliver e-commerce functionality.

With this in mind, AS/400 players Ironside Technologies, Inc. (Pleasanton, Calif.), a supplier of sell side business-to-business e-commerce, and Whittman-Hart Inc. (Chicago), a provider of e-business solutions, recently announced a partnership to deliver rapid e-commerce capability.

“To stay competitive in the new digital economy, companies must be able to go to market quickly with their new e-commerce initiatives,” says Steve Cubberly, Whitman-Hart director of strategic alliances and partnerships. “Ironside’s e-commerce technologies are well-suited to help companies efficiently take their business to the Internet. They provide industry-leading performance and real-time integration into existing business systems, and their rapid deployment capability and open architecture gives companies the flexibility to evolve over time.”

Through the alliance, Ironside will provide rapidly deployable e-commerce technologies that are noted for rapid time-to-market characteristics and application-level integration with back-end host order-management systems. Ironside’s e-commerce technologies will tightly integrate with Whittman-Hart’s end-to-end solutions, delivering an e-commerce solution to customers that provides real-time access to product availability and account information.

“Whittman-Hart recognized the urgency behind e-commerce and the need to select partners equipped to deliver e-commerce capability without delay,” says Ironside president and CEO Bill Lipsin. “They have a very deep and refined set of e-business capabilities, along with a practical view of what is necessary to succeed. Ironside and Whittman-Hart create a frictionless path for delivering best-of-class e-commerce capability without delay. We will work together to provide this capability to all of our joint clients.”
