AMX International (Idaho Falls, Idaho) has released a new product for enhancing e-business applications for users of J.D. Edwards OneWorld software on AS/400 systems. AMX WorldOnline enhances the standard J.D. Edwards OneWorld back-end with a thin graphical Web client.

“Through our AMX WorldOnline product, WorldSoftware customers can now receive a flexible, packaged e-business solution,” says Natalie Hess, technical services area manager for AMX. "This Web-enabled solution will allow our clients to increase sales, enhance Sales Order Management, and provide greater customer service than ever before. In today's virtual economy, this value-add solution provides clients with the ability to capture an immediate ROI on a very minimal capital investment when compared to other e-business software solutions.”

WorldOnline utilizes SEAGULL’s JWalk development and deployment solution. It enables businesses to give their customers access to order placement, product availability information and online order tracking. AMX offers two versions of WorldOnline: basic and advanced. AMX WorldOnline Basic uses screens that have been customized for the Internet with the look and feel of traditional J.D. Edwards applications. AMX WorldOnline Advanced features enhanced graphics and functionality and enables customers to place online orders utilizing an electronic shopping cart function. WorldOnline conforms to J.D. Edwards security rules can operate from either a Windows NT or AS/400 Web server.
