Intermec Technologies Corp. (Woodland Hills, Calif.), a provider of supply chain management technology, has entered into an alliance with Savoir Technology Group (San Antonio) designed to bring Intermec’s solutions to the IBM midrange market.

Under the terms of the agreement, Savoir, a leading distributor of AS/400 and RS 6000 systems, will offer Intermec technology to its network of value-added resellers. Intermec’s offerings include mobile computers, network devices, data collection systems and bar code printers and media.

The marketing alliance aims to provide AS/400 and RS 6000 users with end-to-end SCM solutions. Intermec president Bob O’Malley says he hopes the agreement will allow Intermec to expand into new markets.

“We look to Savoir, with its laser focus on the IBM midrange market, to represent us to its customers,” O’Malley says. “Partners such as Savoir are our link to those all-important clients—end users of Intermec technology and services. With our technology and Savoir’s IBM expertise and network of business partners, we together can offer businesses a 21st century supply-chain management technology.”
