Lucent & HP Announce Strategic Agreements
Lucent Technologies and HP have entered a series of agreements covering Lucent’s Unified Messenger solution and Communications Software Management Systems products. These agreements accompany the recent launch of Lucent’s BusinessPartners program, and are intended to expand and strengthen their sales channels by consolidating its products, services, channels and customer segments in order to achieve a single, unified Lucent contact for partners and customers.
According to the agreements, HP’s Complementary Products Division will sell, stage, deliver, integrate and install Lucent’s Communications Software Management Systems solutions, beginning with the NetMinder System family. The NetMinder System helps service providers manage their various networks as one network, and optimize capacity and service levels. Lucent and HP will utilize the NetMinder System feature sets to provide integrated or modular Network Traffic Management (NTM), Network Trouble Patterning (NTP) and Network Capacity Engineering (NCE) solutions on industry-standard computer platforms.
Lucent’s Unified Messenger, which allows users to access all voice, phone, fax and e-mail messages with a touch-tone phone or multi-media computer, will be offered and integrated for Microsoft Exchange through HP’s Microsoft Services Operation; Lucent will provide sales training, installation training, and technology and marketing support. In addition, Lucent and HP will engage in joint marketing and sales opportunities, and collaborate on research and development projects.
