i2Technologies Announces AS/400 Support

Continuing its efforts to push the AS/400 as a strong platform for e-business, IBM and business partner i2 Technologies (Dallas), a provider of intelligent e-business solutions, recently announced that i2 applications now support the AS/400.
The addition of i2’s eBusiness and TradeMatrix solutions allow AS/400 users to leverage i2’s software across the supply chain, increasing revenues, reducing expenses, making full use of assets and increasing responsiveness to customer demand.
“The announcement caps a 10-week campaign during which we introduced significant new applications and e-business solutions for the AS/400, the industry’s leading midmarket commercial business server,” says Tom Jarosh, IBM general manager of midmarket servers. “With i2 support, IBM continues to offer customers the best of both worlds: a totally modern, highly versatile business computer that combines AS/400 traditional strengths of reliability, scalability, security and service with the latest hot new e-business technologies.”
i2’s solutions also open up further opportunities for AS/400 users to participate in B2B marketplaces and trading communities, such as i2’s TradeMatrix.com, which provides solutions, services and marketplaces required to conduct business profitably.
