Novient Inc., a global provider of Web-enabled Business-to-Business software, has reached a deal with leading AS/400 solution provider Lawson Software which will lead to the development of a total front- and back-end solution based on integration of the two companies’ products.

The agreement establishes an interface between Novient’s Professional Services Automation (PSA) solution and Lawson’s front-to-back office software suite, and will allow seamless data integration and transfer between the product suites. The combined product is targeted to service organizations and is designed to improve resource scheduling, utilization, and analysis, cost control, and communications.

“If you can increase utilization by only a few percentage points, you’ve impacted a company’s revenue significantly,” says Carol Hallock, director of Lawson’s professional services business unit. “Novient’s end-to-end Business-to-Business Services Automation solution, coupled with Lawson’s robust back-office suite, provides Professional Services organizations with a complete solution for maximizing their bottom line profitability.”

The interface between Lawson and Novient will allow users to mine employee data from Lawson’s Human Resources and Project Management systems, while providing access to critical information through the data and functionality in Novient’s eServices product suite, to assist in efficiently monitoring services projects. In addition, details from the project accounting module will provide crucial information on job requirement, project timelines, open projects, and billing rates.

“With a clearer picture of their enterprise, executives will be better equipped to make informed, profitable, and timely decisions,” says Steve Shambach, VP of sales for Novient. “Our partnership with Lawson Software marks the development of a tremendous increase in efficiency from time to billing, leading to a quicker realization of revenue. Most importantly, the partnership will result in maximum profitability for any services organization.”
