SolCom to Add Enhanced Web Support to Document Management Suite
SolCom Inc. (Sioux Falls, S.D.), a developer of AS/400 knowledge management software including high-volume document imaging, workflow and COLD, has announced enhanced Web support for its SolCom MultiManager Product Suite. In addition to an improved Web-based client, SolCom is delivering document management components that can be integrated into customer or partner Intranet and Internet applications.
"Our customers have asked for plug-and-play full-function document management components as they build their own internal Web applications and we are happy to deliver," says Myron Sougstad, SolCom's president. "Our clients wanted secure, easy access to their electronic content within and beyond their walls. As the solutions company we feel it is important to not only provide our customers solutions but to give them the tools they need to solve problems independently."
The Web-based client and Web components will be usable with the MultiManager Product Suite applications. The Web-based components will be generally available over the summer months. The enhanced client will be generally available in October 2000.
The MultiManager Product Suite (new window) includes: MultiManager E-Xpress for document management functions that can be used off-the-shelf for under $5,000; MultiManager Elite, which builds upon E-Xpress and contains SolCom's integrated Computer Output to Laser Disk subsystem, enhanced storage capabilities and high speed document capture; and MultiManager Enterprise, SolCom's high volume application that provides Elite's document management capabilities along with the company's integrated workflow, MultiFlow.
