Vision Solutions Forms Cluster Club

Information availability management solution provider Vision Solutions (Irvine, Calif.) announced last week at IBM’s ASP Enablement Conference a new program called Cluster Club that targets ISVs, ASPs and in-house developers.

The new program enables solution developers to quickly create AS/400 ClusterProven Applications or modify existing applications to meet the IBM-specified CusterProven criteria. An IBM-sponsored certification program, ClusterProven denotes AS/400 applications that meet specific requirements for cluster management, and applications and data resiliency.

By clustering their applications, ISVs and ASPs can ensure that their applications will continue to run even if there is down time. “Information availability clearly ranks high on the list of computing requirements in our economy focused on e-business and globalized operations, and clustering technology has been tested and proven to meet these critical business needs,” says Nicolaas Vlok, Vision CEO. “Because the benefits of clustering are limited without cluster-enabled applications, Vision recognized early on the importance of partnering with solution developers to leverage cluster technology.

Vision Solutions gives ISVs and ASPs the ability to cluster-enable their applications through an offering that includes access to Vision Suite high availability software, Vision’s cluster middleware toolkit, access to testing and certification facilities, consulting services, training courses, and ongoing support services.

“Our Cluster Club is a resource hub for ISVs and ASPs to quickly become cluster-educated, to easily develop or modify applications as ClusterProven, and to participate in the lucrative and expanding market of providing maximum levels of high availability,” added Vlok.
