Prophet 21’s TPCx Creates Digital B2B Marketplace
Joanna Doyle
Prophet 21 Inc. has announced the release of TradingPartnerConnect (TPCx), a service which gives distributors the ability to connect and transact business with suppliers online.
TPCx is designed to be a digital marketplace for business-to-business interaction, but also offers full interoperability with end-user focused vertical marketplaces, corporate exchanges and e-procurement hubs. Key features of TPCx include a fully aggregated product catalog, data mining functions, real time pricing and availability, and keyword, attribute and parametric product searching.
“We have designed TPCx to allow participants to automatically process marketplace functions through tight integration with their back-end systems,” says Joe Buffington, CTO at Prophet 21. “We have automated the entire order life cycle from quoting to order payment.”
TCPx allows full integration with other Prophet 21 software products. The beta program for TPCx will begin this July with approximately 50 Prophet 21 customers, and product is expected to be generally available beginning in September.
